Tom Holland shared details about his preparations for the Fred Astaire biopic as he reflected on the next chapter of his career on “Good Morning America” on July 20. Holland revealed he had returned to the dance studio to prepare for the long-awaited project, calling his first rehearsal a humbling experience. “I’ve had my first few rehearsals recently and it’s exciting and scary at the same time because I still have a lot of work to do to make Fred proud,” Holland said in an interview.

Holland admits he is entering a new career phase where he can no longer rely solely on youthful charisma. “I feel like I’m starting a chapter now where I can never escape being a teenager,” the actor said. “For me, what I love about working is the challenge. Next we have Fred Astaire and that’s what we plan to do. Once I’m done with these tours, I’ll be back in the dance studio,” he added.

Holland also revealed his ambitions for how the film’s dance sequences would be executed on screen. “I would have liked to have done all the dances without using a stunt double, and shot them all in one take, if he could do that,” he said. This biopic was originally scheduled to be produced by Paul King The show, based on a script by Steven Levenson, was first announced in 2021, when Holland was confirmed to have signed on to play Astaire.

The film is the couple’s fourth Spider-Man movie together after first meeting on the set of 2017’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Zendaya recently reflected on her reunion with Holland in the latest installment, telling Elle magazine that returning to the series felt familiar and meaningful. “Spider-Man is a dream; I get to go to work every day with my best friend and the person I love,” she said. “We take our dogs to work; it’s like a family affair. We grew up watching these movies! It’s like coming home,” she added.“Spider-Man: New Day” will be released on July 31st.
